Cassandra refers to poetry as spoken music, giving credit to her mothers beautiful melodic gospel/opera voice as the inspiration for her love of poetry.

Cassandra has worked with some of the most outstanding performers on the west coast and nationally.
"Born to Climb" Cassandra's first CD project was released in 2005.
She officially celebrated the release with a stellar event titlEd “An Evening of Simple Elegance”, performing selections from the project accompanied by the Ben Oni Orchestra, a nineteen piece ensemble under the direction of Dr. Curtis Shaw.
Cassandra has joined forces with veteran producer/composer Deborah McDuffie who has taken over the reins as Music Director and manager.
McDuffie will compose the music and produce Cassandra's new project "A New Dawn, A New Day" which will be released in early summer 2008.
McDuffie says, "What a joy and honor it is for me to take this creative journey with Cassandra. Having grown up with poets like Nikki Giovanni and Sonia Sanchez, I have a deep love for spoken word. This is really exciting!"
